Abuja, Nigeria – The Maiden TETFund National Research Fair/Exhibition, held at the iconic Eagle Square in Abuja, witnessed a momentous gathering of key stakeholders in Nigeria’s educational and research sectors. The event, themed “Technologies for Massive Generation of Jobs and Wealth Creation among Nigerians,” emphasized the pivotal role of research, innovation, and technology in driving Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.

Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming tertiary institutions in Abia into centers of excellence. He outlined reforms in institutions such as Abia State University, Uturu; the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba; and the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu. These institutions, he said, are being equipped to produce graduates with entrepreneurial skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to driving Nigeria’s economic progress.

He further emphasized the strategic importance of the newly established Federal College of Education, Ofeme-Ohuhu, noting that Abia State had handed over 25.1 hectares of land to support its development and building new structures there to ensure it’s smooth and timely take off. “This institution will serve as a beacon of learning and socio-economic growth while addressing critical manpower needs in the education sector,” Governor Otti stated.
